ASID DEBUTS CREATIVE CONCEPT AT KBIS 2019
Open Installation, Designed by HDR’s Elizabeth von Lehe, Brings “Design Impacts Lives” Mission to Life
(January 2019 -- Washington, DC) -- The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is leading the way with innovative industry programming at 2019’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), South Hall Lobby, Booth SL002. The Society will showcase the impact of design through an exciting new installation custom designed by Elizabeth von Lehe, Allied ASID, design and brand strategy principal, HDR.
“Celebrating the powerful impact of design is critical to the profession,” explains von Lehe. “I’m honored to be able to put those words into action through this space, offering inspiration and a place to meet, greet, and mingle with fellow industry members.”
Adds Randy Fiser, Hon. FASID, ASID CEO, “Elizabeth has been a stalwart supporter of the ASID message. We’re thrilled to engage her creative vision and are excited to see how designers can interact with and learn from the space.”
The ASID installation will serve as an oasis that invites visitors to engage, ask broad questions, and explore the beautiful, impactful, and often surprising ways that design impacts lives. Set in the south lobby of the show, it will also act as a learning lounge for those in attendance. The design features multimedia components that support personal well-being and humancentric design philosophies. By offering resources and creating a platform for conversation, ASID will enhance visitors’ experiences and understanding of the many opportunities impactful design presents.
Elizabeth von Lehe has previously worked with ASID, designing their “Design Impacts Lives” lounge at NeoCon 2017.
The American Society of Interior Designers believes that design transforms lives. We thrive on the strength of cross-functional and interdisciplinary relationships among designers of all specialties, including workplace, healthcare, retail and hospitality, education, institutional, and residential. We lead interior designers in shared conversations around topics that matter: from evidence-based and human-centric design to social responsibility, well-being, and sustainability. We showcase the impact of design on the human experience and the value interior designers provide.
ASID was founded over 40 years ago when two organizations became one, but its legacy dates back to the early 1930s. As we celebrate nearly 85 years of industry leadership, we are leading the future of interior design, continuing to integrate the advantages of local connections with national reach, of small firms with big, and of the places we live with the places we work, play,
