Design-Driven Digital Media Platforms Come to Life in the Design Milk® X Modenus® Talks Lounge at KBIS 2018

Talks Lounge Aims to Create Conversations and Strengthen Connections Among Leading Industry Influencers

(Alpharetta, Ga.) – September 6, 2017 – The 2018 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS)the destination for kitchen and bath design professionals, and Modenus Media are proud to announce the return of the Design Milk® X Modenus® Talks Lounge to KBIS in January. The Talks Lounge brings three full days of dynamic programming and an engaging, growing list of influencers set to lead conversations that address the topics that matter to today’s kitchen and bath designers. The Talks Lounge is located in space S5238 in South Hall. KBIS 2018 takes place January 9-11 in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center.  The hashtag for the lounge, #DMMTalks, will be live beginning in October for audiences to learn about programming and special events.

The Talks Lounge will be a space for industry influencers and design VIPs to connect and converse on topics around social and digital media, design trends, the business of design and sustainable/wellness-focused interiors.  As Modenus Media CEO Veronika Miller explained, “The Talks Lounge is a place for conversations that build connections. On both Modenus and Design Milk, there are incredible conversations happening virtually year-round about kitchen and bath design. At KBIS, however, the Talks Lounge allows us to get real and to come out from behind our computers and continue our conversations face-to-face. The result is a more meaningful connection, and it’s a lot of fun.”

The Talks Lounge concept, created by Modenus Media and Design Milk, debuted at KBIS 2017 with a huge response from the industry. Celebrity designer Bobby Berk came in to bring the concept to life, giving influencers and design VIPs a vibrant, comfortable, beautiful space to relax, (re)charge and become inspired.

“We’re looking forward to returning to KBIS and continuing the momentum we began last year with our Talks

Lounge,” said Jaime Derringer, founder and executive editor, Design Milk. “Our Talks Lounge guests loved the space and opportunity to connect with peers and friends. Today, so much of our industry’s dialogue happens on digital platforms, and I think even more now, as a result, people crave that personal, real life conversation. The Design Milk X Modenus Talks Lounge seems to have met a real need, which we love.”

“The NKBA is excited to welcome back the Design Milk X Modenus Talks Lounge to KBIS 2018. The lounge is a wonderful space for our kitchen and bath influencers to reconnect with key members of the design community, as well as meet new faces and create new, meaningful relationships,” said NKBA vice president of industry relations Suzie Williford.

“Veronika and Jaime have been wonderful supporters of KBIS, and we’re thrilled to once again help them bring the Design Milk X Modenus Talks Lounge to life,” added Brian Pagel, senior vice president, Emerald Expositions. “At KBIS, we’re a part of the kitchen and bath industry’s conversation year-round. It’s important to us that during KBIS, the show is a place for all members of our industry to come together to build and strengthen meaningful connections that fuel future dialogues and the forward momentum of our industry.”

The lounge is open to everyone on a first-come basis. Social media influencers and design VIPs are urged to RSVP for VIP status, which provides access to refreshments, goodie bags, special meet-and-greet opportunities as well as the influencer breakfast on Jan. 10.
