New Area Has Brands, Programming and Thought-Provoking Sessions for Every Taste
(Alpharetta, Ga.) – February 12, 2018 –At this year’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), producers envisioned, designed and executed a new area that would host a wide selection of exclusive, design-forward brands, have enough space to accommodate three full days of programming and support an open lounge area available for attendees to discuss and solve design or business issues in an open forum. Called Salon by KBIS, and located just outside of South Hall, the all-new show area will be featured February 19-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“We are very proud of our inaugural Salonby KBIS and very excited about a new lounge inside Salon, KBIS THINK - a space for community generated discussion groups on all things that matter in our industry: Business, new technology, design trends and more. KBIS visitors can sign up to host a topic or see a list of available topics and join the conversation. We realize that a show like KBIS is not just about product, it's about information, education and conversation and we're thrilled to be the ones that can facilitate this,” said Brian Pagel, senior vice president, Emerald Expositions.
Open every morning at 8:00 a.m., here is a taste of what attendees will experience:

KBIS THINK - Open Seating Lounge Area Providing Food for Thought
Attendees and exhibitors can take a break from walking the show to sit, network and chew over all the ideas that they’ve gleaned from the show. Named KBIS THINK, this 30 x 30 space features a healthy concession area and supplies for note taking and sketching and is designed to be a participatory workshop-type area, where show visitors can open a discussion and invite others to join in the discussion.
Lightovation Lounge features two days of lighting-focused programming by nationally recognized lighting designer Randall Whitehead, IALD, aka “The Lighting Doctor,” and Joe Rey-Barreau, AIA, longtime director of Education for American Lighting Association, and professor at the University of Kentucky, aka “The Lighting Professor.” In addition to leading 20-minute educational sessions on a range of timely lighting topics, the “Doctor” and the “Professor” also will host office hours to meet individually with attendees to answer their lighting questions one-on-one. Lightovation Lounge also brings Dallas Market Center’s Lightovation event to KBIS via a virtual reality experience that transports attendees to the largest residential lighting show in North America.
